Hydra AmigaNet rev 1.1 hardware fix ----------------------------------- There is a hardware bug in Hydra's AmigaNet ethernet card, which prevents it from working in Zorro III (and some busboard expanded) Amigas. This fix makes it work, but only as the last device in the autoconfig chain. With A3000 and A4000 that means it must be above the all other cards. You have to connect pin 1 from the circuit U12 (74LS374) to the pins 5 and 6 in circuit U22 (74LS02) with a wire. It is enough to connect only to pin 5 or 6 in U22, because they are already connected to each other. It is better to solder the wire to underside of the board. Next you have to cut wire, which goes to pin 1 in U12, from the board. Wire is connected to upper (component) side of the board, but goes through the hole to under side of the board after about 0.5 cm distance. It is easiest to cut the wire from underside of the board, before it goes to next hole again. Here is a diagram about U12 from the underside of the board: * * * * * * * * * * ----*-----------------------------X--------------------* 1st hole next hole cut * * * * * * * * * 1 pin1 There are other wires on the board too, which aren't marked in the diagram. You have to be sure to cut the correct one then. After the fix AmigaNet 1.1 card has worked fine for example with A4000 and A1200 with MicroniK's ZorroII busboard.
